It's not really a new version, just an updated one. >_> When I look back at the old stuff, it's pretty embarrassing. But I guess pretty much everyone knows about that sort of thing.
The one on the bottom left corner isn't very good. I suck at that angle. But I guess that's why I need to draw it more. Whoopie.
Oh yeah, and I just realized that we hit the 100th post a while back. Whoopie!
I don't really know what this was for. But it turned out well. So yeah. (>_>) She's not one of my characters or anything. But maybe I'll make her one.
I guess this was mainly an exercise in shading.

Yup...
I finally got the chance to post. Grah! And it's not like this is a work of art. Figuratively speaking.
It is a wonderful creature, if you get to know it properly. But I didn't do a very good job with this particular one. The lines don't vary enough, and the proportions are screwy. The sketch was way nicer. (._.) But I got to try out my cool new brown ink!
And I still haven't gotten it exactly right. Even so, this turned out to be a pretty good sketch! (^_^)
Well, I drew these according to various fashions back then, but they're not perfectly accurate. (They look better bigger, click on the image to see up close) I was trying to draw a character sketch of a Princess/Lady, and I think the one on the bottom left with the side view as well turned out the most like I imagined.
Man, were people ever weird back then. Especially their clothes. I've been doing research on the fashion trends of the Europeans from the 16th century to the 20th century, and the only conclusion that I've settled on is that they were really weird people. There's not much else you can say. (>_>) The men always had really dorky looking pants, and some sort of jacket. Then of course for the women there was the famous corset, which they only stopped using in the early 1900s. Some of the older kinds of corsets had tall, rigid collars that went up to the cheekbones, so that women were forced to keep their heads tilted up.

I made up the dress and face, but it is based on paintings from that era, and I believe it's pretty accurate.

But these aren't just any character sketches, oh no. These are people that I remember distinctly from a dream I had. The black haired girl could use her fingers like a lighter. (>_>) And the light hair girl was just kind of annoying.
I've been working on this one for a while. It's not that she was hard to draw, but that I couldn't decide on how many horns and spikes she had. (>_>);
